PARENT VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for parent drivers to help with athletics events and would greatly appreciate your support!
If you are available to drive to a game a tournament or other team event, please complete the following paper work in advance,
to allow time for processing.
- Criminal Record Check: Obtain a criminal record check letter from the office, in person or by email. Once signed, you must drop off and pick up the letter at the local RCMP detachment. Completed record checks can be dropped off directly at the SD78 Board Office or returned to the school.
- Criminal record checks are valid for 2 years
- The criminal record check is free of charge for school volunteers
- School District 78 employees already have record checks on file, you do not need to complete a separate form
- Criminal record checks are valid for 2 years
- Insurance Papers: Bring in or email a copy of your vehicle insurance paperwork to the office.
- Liability coverage must be at least 2 million dollars.
- Drivers with “L” or “N” classifications may not transport students for the purposes of school authorized travel.
- Drivers must be at least nineteen (19) years of age
- All vehicles must be in good working order with adequate seatbelts and equipped with appropriate tires for the seasonal conditions.
- Driving Records: Go to https://onlinebusiness.icbc.com/clio/ for an instant download of your abstract or visit any vehicle insurance branch to get a copy of your drivers abstract. Send or return your abstract to the office. Drivers abstracts are valid for 1 year.
- School District Form: Complete an “Application for use of Private Vehicle/Volunteer Driver” form.
