DUAL CREDIT:

The goal is to provide students with opportunities to integrate school  based learning with community based work experience, and to develop employability  skills to work effectively and collaboratively in the workplace.

CAREER PROGRAMS:

The goal is to provide students with opportunities to integrate school- based learning with community based work experience, and to develop employability  skills to work effectively and collaboratively in the workplace.

Credit Based Work Experience:
  • Work Experience 12
  • elective for Grade 10 - 12 students
  • 100 hours = 4 credits
  • arranged with Career Education Coordinator

30-Hour Career Exploration:
  • mandatory for Graduation

SECONDARY SCHOOL APPRENTICESHIP:

This is a Trades Career program with paid workplace training where a student registers with Industry Training Authority.  Earn while you learn!

_All apprenticeship courses are:
  • 4 credits
  • maximum of 16 credits
  • 120 hours of paid work experience
  • eligible for a $1000 scholarship

Application process:
  • explore a trade you are interested in
  • find a employer sponsor (your workplace/ parents/network)
  • see your Career Education Coordinator for application and interview
  • once registered, start work and keep track of your hours
Apprenticeship 11A:
  • 4 credit elective for 120 hours of work, outside of timetable

Apprenticeship 11B:
  • 4 credit elective for 120 hours of work, outside of timetable

Apprenticeship 12A:
  • 4 credit elective for 120 hours of work, outside of timetable

Apprenticeship 12B:
  • 4 credit elective for 120 hours of work, outside of timetable
